Ease back into your routine with 55-minute sports practices.

Prepare for your next Volo sports league with our new sports practices. A Volo Coach will run you through drills, skills activities and a scrimmage. Volo practices run for 55-minutes and are designed to help you improve your game.

There are three types of practices:

  • Independent Training practices are available, where you can work on personal skills and individual drills to improve personal performance and ball control. These will not include any group drills or scrimmage.
  • Team training practices allow you to focus on passing and formation drills to improve player-to-player skills and field strategy. This is a great option to prepare for the season with your team.
  • Open Training Practices give you the freedom to run practice the way you want it. We will provide you with the field space and the equipment, and you and your team can run dills and scrimmage to fit your needs.

  • Sports Practices FAQ

What can I expect at a Volo Sports Practice?

A premiere, FUN experience! Plan to arrive at the field 10-15 minutes before practice time to meet up with your practice group and get ready to put your skills to the test. Each practice will follow a similar format that includes: Group Stretches, Warm Up Drills, Skills Activity, Individual and Partner Drills, Team Scrimmage, and Cool Down.

    How competitive are the practices?

We are all about being social here at Volo, and practices are designed to be a place where you can develop your skillset in a controlled setting. If a practice does not have an ability level outlined in the description we will break groups up based on skill level. We do offer specific practices such as “beginner”, “intermediate”, and “advanced.” The level of play, and types of skill development will vary based on the difficulty level. Questions? Shoot us an email.

How much does it cost to participate in a sports practice?

You can expect your sports practices to run $10 per player for a single practice. Your registration includes a Volo coach, venue costs, insurance, equipment, and more.
Don’t forget, when you sign up with Volo, your practice fees help provide free youth sports programs in Baltimore through the Volo Kids Foundation. #playitforward

Are there gender requirements during practices?

While we do have gender requirements for our leagues, we will not be enforcing gender requirements during practices. This is a time for everyone to develop skills and we will do our best to simulate actual game play during scrimmages.

    What should I bring?

Volo will provide the equipment basics. You should come prepared in athletic clothing, and appropriate athletic shoes. Unlike a Volo league, we will not be providing shirts for practices. During scrimmages we will provide pinnies. If you do not want to wear a pinny please wear a reversible shirt or bring a light and dark colored shirt option. Please note, for our softball players you will need to provide your own glove.
